After Hurricane Harvey, Houston finds itself slowly coming back up above the troubled waters and recovering from the impact of the storm. The floods may have caused Houston to suffer greatly in some areas, but Houstonians are eager to start having fun once again. A variety of events are planned around Houston for the month of September–from hurricane relief to fun in the sun, here are just a few events that highlight how we are #HoustonStrong and ready to get back to business.
Hurricane Harvey Relief- All month
Nothing shows the spirit of Houston more than the way that Houstonians have found a way to come together after the storm to support one another. Local shelters and food banks are still working very hard to help those in need–and they are constantly seeking volunteers and donations. Giving back your time and efforts to the community are a great way to get involved this month, especially with victims of Harvey still in need.
Houston Restaurant Week– Extended
With the recent setbacks Houston has experienced, The Houston Food Bank is looking to make up for lost time–especially now when storm victims are looking for relief. Last month’s Restaurant Week charity event around Houston has been extended into September. So if you didn’t go out and get your taste of Houston cuisine, it’s not too late! Proceeds benefit the Houston Food Bank, who is helping those in these times of hardship.
