Event Operations and Marketing Intern (Houston, TX)
PEOPLE GENERATION, INC., PRODUCING COMPANY OF MAGICAL WINTER LIGHTS ®, IS LOOKING FOR AN EVENT OPERATIONS INTERN.
This position reports to the PR & Events Manager and will help coordinate event production and marketing efforts for Magical Winter Lights, the largest lantern festival in the United States and the larger holiday event in Houston.
Interns will have the chance to gain experience in coordinating the many details that go into creating excellent large-scale events. Interns will be exposed to a variety of event administration tasks, including event marketing, customer service, human resources, vendor relationship management, and more. Individuals in this position will work both in the office and on the event grounds, becoming familiar with all daily festival operations. During this time, event interns will get the chance to see what goes on behind the scenes of large scale events and also experience the magical event that work produces.
Minimum Employment Qualifications:
Age 18 or older
High school diploma or equivalent degree (pursuing Bachelor degree preferred)
Event Marketing or Operations experience preferred
Legal working status in the United States
Drafting creative marketing copy to be posted on the web, social media, or as press releases
Interacting with festival guests
Helping with staff management administration including scheduling and payroll
General office administrative duties including answering phones, supply runs, and recording meeting minutes.
Assist in correspondence with potential sponsors, vendors and other event related partners.
Assist in organizing expenses, acquiring quotes from operational service providers.
Assist in marketing and PR campaigning planning.
Assist in planning, logistics, and execution of projects.Conduct event related research.
Physical & Other Requirements:
Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Able to work outdoors and in a variety of weather conditions
Friendly customer service attitude, strong ability to communicate with others
Must have reliable transportation
Must be available to work afternoon hours, weekends as well as holidays if scheduled (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day)

Bilingual in Spanish or Mandarin Chinese
